Cluu: “Connected Testing first”

September 25, 2026

Traditional test management often starts with the test case: tests are planned, executed, evaluated, and then documented.

In technical validation, however, reality is far more complex. A test is linked to a specific vehicle or test object. Measurement points need to be defined, sensors installed, and measurement devices and data loggers put into use. Measurement files and observations are generated throughout the validation process. Any abnormalities identified can ultimately lead to complaints and issues.

That means the key question is not simply:

How do we organize tests?

But rather:

How do we connect everything that actually happens during a real-world test?

This is where Cluu comes in with an approach that can be described as “Connected Testing first.”

‍

Viewing tests in their full context

Cluu’s strength lies not only in individual features, but above all in the connections between the different pieces of information.

A test can be linked to a vehicle or test object. It can also be connected to test requests, measurement points, sensors, measurement devices, data loggers, measurement files, observations, and issues.

This creates a digital context that extends across the entire validation process.

During a later analysis, for example, it is possible to trace:

Which vehicle was affected? Which test was performed? Which sensors were installed? Which logger configuration was used? Which measurement data belongs to the event? Which observation was recorded? And is there already a related issue?

As a result, the required context no longer has to be pieced together afterward from Excel lists, filenames, emails, and separate specialist tools.

It is created as part of the process itself.

‍

Mobile data capture directly at the test object

Technical validation rarely takes place exclusively at a desk.

Information is generated on the test bench, in the workshop, at the proving ground, or directly during a test drive. Mobile use is therefore an essential part of the Connected Testing approach as well.

Smartphones and tablets make it possible to capture information closer to where the work actually happens. Voice input can also help document observations immediately during a test.

This reduces media breaks and ensures that information is created digitally exactly where the real work takes place.

‍

Between Test Management and Measurement Data Management

Cluu is therefore more than a traditional test management system.

The platform brings several areas together:

Test Management for planning, executing, evaluating, and tracking tests.

Measurement Data Management for measurement points, sensors, logging, and the measurement files generated along the way.

Enterprise Workflow for responsibilities, statuses, approvals, and downstream processes.

This combination is what makes the approach particularly interesting. In many companies, these tasks are still spread across different applications, databases, and Excel spreadsheets.

Cluu takes a different route by providing an end-to-end approach built around the actual validation process.

‍

Connectivity becomes the key factor

As products grow more complex, it is not only the amount of data that increases. The number of relationships between that data grows as well.

More variants, additional software versions, a larger number of sensors, and increasing data volumes make it progressively harder to look at information in isolation.

For the test engineer, the focus is on the test. The measurement technician looks at the measurement point. The workshop concentrates on the sensor. Data analysis is concerned with the measurement file. Quality assurance focuses on the issue.

In the actual process, however, all of this information is connected.

That is the core of Connected Testing:

The focus is not on individual systems or isolated data silos, but on the continuous connection between the test object, the test, measurement technology, data, and fault analysis.

‍

Connected Testing first

Digitalizing technical validation therefore involves much more than introducing another test management tool.

What matters is whether the actual validation process can be represented digitally from end to end:

What exactly is being tested?
Which measurement technology is being used?
What data is generated?
What was observed?
Which abnormality occurred?
And what next steps follow from it?

When this information is connected, separate tools become part of one continuous digital validation process.

That is what “Connected Testing first” stands for.
