A project is just a big task. Many smaller tasks must be completed using resources in order to achieve the goal. A test, of course, is also initially just a project.
The project defines the workflow – everyone involved knows what to do and when. With the Project Management App, projects can be prepared, planned, and executed.
Progress becomes visible.
Recurring tests can be created quickly and consistently using intelligent, parameterizable templates. Required resources can be assigned and reserved.
With test management, all types of tests can be defined and executed in a single place.
First, the test is named, configured, and scheduled. Then, participants are added, units under test are selected, and the test scope is defined.
This process is quick and easy thanks to preconfigured catalogs from which test cases can be selected.
Evaluation options determine which test points can be assessed for each unit under test.
Test assets are a valuable commodity. With reservation management, vehicles and other critical resources can be scheduled and used efficiently.
Predefined workflows notify all relevant parties about reservation requests and approvals.
Everyone knows who is using which unit under test, when, and for what purpose. Where-used lists – for example, for tax authorities – can be generated automatically.
Measurement data is collected during testing – often at hundreds of points. To do this, the right sensors must be installed in the right places. What’s “right” depends on many parameters: the type of test, the unit under test, the product variant, configuration, installed components, and more.
In addition, metrological settings such as the desired sampling rate must be defined. All of this makes for a highly complex and error-prone process – with potentially serious consequences.
That’s why our Measurement Point Management supports this step with intelligent algorithms based on predefined measuring point catalogs and rule sets.
Once the measuring points have been defined, the necessary equipment – especially measuring systems and sensors – must be procured. An order for equipment can be generated directly from the measuring point list via the equipment management module.
All required devices are compiled and prepared for testing. This process automatically documents which sensors and measurement systems were used at the unit under test.
In most test vehicles, data loggers are used to continuously record measurement data. These loggers must be properly configured to define which signals to capture and at what data rates.
The resulting measurement data requires massive storage capacity.
In large test fleets, managing data logging becomes a major challenge: What are the requirements of each testing department? Which vehicle is assigned to which test? Where should the recorded data be transferred? And how can configuration changes be applied during operation – when vehicles are running 24/7 around the world?
Fortunately, Cluu's Data Logging Management makes all of this manageable.
In the workshop, units under test are equipped with sensors and measurement devices.
Using the provided measuring point lists, workshop staff can easily see which sensor needs to be installed, where, and how. Photos showing the exact installation positions are available – directly on their smartphones. No more printouts.
Proper installation can be documented using the smartphone camera – and for some tests, this is even mandatory.
Once installed, the sensors are assigned to their respective measuring points. From this, setup configurations for the data acquisition systems can be generated automatically.
Internal and external service providers are often involved in test execution. Test objects must be modified, measurement equipment installed, and vehicles transported to test centers around the world – whether for mobile testing or on test benches.
With Order Management, the entire process can be handled seamlessly – from requesting quotes to commissioning and invoicing.
Preparation is complete – now it’s time for vehicle deployment. But where are the keys?
With Key Cabinet Management, keys for pre-reserved vehicles are issued and returned fully automatically – simply by scanning an employee ID card.
When a key is issued, the system immediately shows the current location of the vehicle.
The keys have been collected – but where’s the vehicle?
In large companies with thousands of test vehicles and vast premises, spending hours searching for a specific car is not unusual.
With Location Management, that problem is solved. The vehicle’s position is displayed on a map in real time.
This can be achieved either via GPS trackers installed in the vehicle or simply by having the previous driver save the vehicle’s location when parking.
Conducting a test is often stressful: it’s hot, cold, wet, or dusty. Using an app while driving is a real challenge. That’s why simplicity and reliability are key – the system must perform under all conditions.
Testers appreciate when the system guides them step by step: during the briefing, essential test information is provided. Next, the condition of the test object must be verified and documented.
Whether using a tablet or smartphone – assessments at the test points can include photos, videos, audio recordings, and even sketches. Voice recording combined with AI-based speech recognition enables vehicle testing without a co-driver.
For later analysis of issues identified during testing, it’s important to know how the vehicle was configured. More and more vehicle functions are controlled by software.
To record the installed state of control unit software, hardware, and data, a diagnostic log can be retrieved either before or after the test drive.
These logs are stored in the Diagnostic Protocol Management App, providing a fast and reliable way to document the system status.
In requirements workshops with our customers, we learned that quickly logging events and observations while driving is crucial – especially in the context of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
This includes both dynamic environmental data such as weather, road conditions, and traffic, as well as changing properties of the test object itself – for example, damper stiffness or the selected driving mode.
Users can switch to this view from the standard execution screen at any time.
Thanks to cloud technology, the results of tests conducted worldwide are available centrally in near real time.
Test evaluations and reported issues are reviewed and consolidated by experts. Similar or recurring issues are grouped into what are known as consolidated results.
These consolidated results focus on the actual root causes – not just the symptoms.
For further analysis, issues can be forwarded either to departmental analysts via their task inboxes or directly into an issue tracking system.
Large volumes of measurement data are generated during testing – a perfect task for Cluu Measurement Data Management.
Measurement files from data loggers or test benches are typically stored automatically in the data management system, always in the testing context.
Thanks to a hybrid storage system, even massive amounts of data can be stored and quickly retrieved.
Sensitive data can be content-encrypted, and any resulting storage costs can be allocated via order numbers.
The results are in – now what?
Test results can be visualized using the Cluu Dashboard Manager.
The built-in Dashboard Designer features an intuitive user interface for creating ad hoc dashboards.
If evaluation tools already exist in your organization, they can easily be integrated into the workflow using Cluu Evaluation Management.
Problems identified during testing need to be resolved as quickly as possible – and Cluu helps make that happen.
Issues can be transferred directly from Test Management to the Cluu Issue Tracking App,
where they are prioritized, categorized, and assigned to the appropriate person.
All actions taken are documented, allowing full transparency and traceability until resolution.
This solution brings together the most relevant Cluu apps for testing – from planning and execution to data management and issue tracking. Each app contributes a specific piece to the overall process.
These additional apps are not essential – but they help unlock the full potential of the Assisted Testing Solution:
