Once might be a coincidence. Five times in a row—probably not.
In 2027, we’re once again among the Top Companies recognized by kununu—marking our fifth consecutive year on the list.
We’re thrilled about this. Especially because this recognition isn’t based on a jury, an application process, or a glossy presentation. It’s based on employee reviews on kununu.
Only about five percent of employer profiles on the platform receive the Top Company seal.
What the seal means to us
There are many employer awards out there. With this one, one thing is particularly important to us: We can’t nominate ourselves, nor can we buy our way into it. It’s based on feedback from the people who work or have worked for us.
The fact that we’ve met the criteria for five years in a row is therefore far more valuable to us than a single award.
After all, company culture isn’t something you build once and then check off your list. It evolves with the company, with new colleagues, different tasks, and new challenges.
What works well today doesn’t necessarily mean it will still be a good fit tomorrow.
Good work requires a good environment
At Softwarehelden, we want to create a work environment where people can take on responsibility, enjoy working together, and at the same time have enough freedom to do their jobs well in their own way.
For us, this doesn’t involve any spectacular one-off measures, but rather many things that come together in everyday life: open communication, short lines of communication, trust, flexibility, good technical resources, time spent together as a team, and the willingness to change things when they no longer work.
Not all of this can be translated into benefits or employer promises. And that’s probably exactly the point.
In the end, culture isn’t something you see on the careers page—it’s what you experience on Monday mornings in the office, on projects, in meetings, and when things don’t go as planned.
Feedback Is Part of It
Of course, we’re happy to receive positive feedback on kununu. But for us, suggestions on where we can improve are just as important—if not more so.
After all, a good rating doesn’t mean everything is perfect. To us, it means: A lot seems to be going right—so we should take a close look at what we should keep and where we need to keep improving.
That’s why we’re happy to accept the 2027 Top Company seal.
We’re even more delighted that this is already our fifth in a row.
