A project is just a big task. Many small tasks have to be completed using resources in order to achieve the goal. A test is, of course, initially also simply a project.
The project defines the workflow, everyone involved knows what they have to do and when. With the project management app, projects can be prepared, planned and processed.
The progress becomes visible.Recurring tests are created quickly and uniformly with the help of intelligent, parameterizable templates. Required resources can be assigned and reserved.
With test management, all types of tests can be specified and executed in one location.
First, the test is named, specified and scheduled. Then, participants are added, units under test are selected and the test scope is defined.
This is done quickly and easily by selecting the test cases from prepared catalogs.
Evaluation options determine which test points can be evaluated at the respective unit under test .
Test objects are a rare commodity. With reservation management, vehicles and other necessary resources can be scheduled and efficiently utilized.
Stored workflows inform those involved about reservation requests and approvals.
Everyone knows who uses which unit under test when and for what. Where-used lists, e.g. for the tax authorities, can be generated automatically.
Measurement data is collected during tests. Often at hundreds of points. For this, the right sensors must be installed in the right places. "Right" can depend on a large number of parameters: The type of test, unit under test, the product variant, the product configuration, installed components, etc.
In addition, metrological specifications, such as the desired sampling rate, must be defined. All in all, this is a highly complex and therefore error-prone process with massive consequences.
It is good that the measuring signal management app helps with this process step with intelligent algorithms based on measuring point catalogs and rules stored there.
Once the measuring points have been defined, the measuring equipment (especially measuring systems and sensors) must be procured. An order for the measuring equipment management can be generated from the measuring point list.
All equipment is compiled and borrowed for testing. This automatically documents which sensors and measuring equipment were used at unit under test.
In most test vehicles, data loggers are used which continuously record measurement data. The data loggers have to be configured accordingly for this so that they know which signals have to be recorded at which data rate.
The collected measurement data require huge storage systems.
With large test fleets, the data logging process becomes a challenge: What are the requirements of the testing departments? Which vehicle is driving for which test? Where must the measurement data be transferred to? How can changes be fed in during operation when the vehicles are on the road around the clock all over the world?
It is good that there is data logging management.
In the workshop, the units under test are now equipped with the sensors and measuring devices.
The workshop employees can find out which sensor has to be installed where and how from the measuring point lists provided. A picture shows the exact installation location. On the smartphone. Printing out was yesterday.
Correct installation can be documented with the smartphone camera. For some tests, this is mandatory.
The sensors installed are now assigned to the measuring points. Setups for the data acquisition systems can be generated from this.
Internal and external service providers are often involved in the execution of tests. Test objects must be converted, measuring equipment must be installed, vehicles must be brought to the test centers distributed around the world, tests must be carried out, mobile or on test stands.
With order management, the entire awarding process can be handled, from requesting bids, to commissioning, to invoicing.
The preparation is complete, now the vehicles are needed for the implementation. But where are the vehicle keys?
With the help of the key cabinet management, the keys of pre-reserved vehicles are handed over to the reservationists and taken back fully automatically. Simply by holding out the employee ID card.
When the key is issued, the system displays where the vehicle is currently located.
We're ready to go, the vehicle keys have been collected. But where is the vehicle? Large companies have thousands of test vehicles and sometimes huge company premises. Searching for vehicles for hours is not uncommon.
With the help of location management, this problem is a thing of the past. The position of the vehicle is displayed on a map.
This can be done either by GPS trackers installed in the vehicle or simply by the previous driver saving the location of the vehicle when parking it.
Conducting a trial is usually stressful. It's hot, cold, wet or dry. Handling an app while driving is a challenge. Simplicity and reliability are crucial here. The system must work under all circumstances.
The testers are grateful when the system guides them through the individual steps: In the "briefing", important information is provided for testing. Then the state of the test object must be validated and documented.
Whether with tablet or smartphone: assessments on the test points can be provided with pictures, videos, sound recordings and sketches. A voice recording and AI based speech recognition enables vehicle tests even without a co-driver.
For the later analysis of problems found in the test, it is important to know how the vehicle was configured. Vehicle functions are increasingly realized by software. In order to log the installed status of control unit software statuses, hardware statuses and data statuses, a diagnostic log can first be read out before or after the test drive.
These are stored in the diagnostics data management app and are thus a super fast way of logging the status.
In requirements workshops with our customers, we realized that the fast logging of events and assessments while driving is very important. Especially with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System).
Here, on the one hand, changing environmental data such as weather, road conditions or the traffic situation can be logged, but on the other hand also changeable properties of the test object itself, such as damper hardness or the selected driving mode.
It is possible to switch from the normal execution view to this view at any time.
Through cloud technology, the results of the tests carried out worldwide are available centrally in quasi real time.
These assessments/complaints are viewed and consolidated by specialists. During consolidation, similar complaints are combined into so-called consolidated results.
Consolidated results therefore only contain the actual core problems, not the symptoms.
For further analysis, issues can be transferred to the analysts' mailboxes of the departments and/or to an issue tracking system.
Huge amounts of measurement data accumulate during trials. A case for the Cluu measurement data management.
Measurement files from data loggers or test benches are usually stored automatically in the measurement data management system. Always in the context of testing.
Using a hybrid storage system, very large amounts of data can be stored and still be found quickly.
Secret data can be encrypted in terms of content. The storage costs incurred can be billed via order numbers.
Now the results are in the box. And then?
The test results can be visualized with the Cluu dashboard manager.
The dashboard designer has an intuitive user interface for creating ad hoc dashboards.
If there are already evaluation solutions in-house, they can be integrated into the workflow with the help of the Cluu evaluation management.
The problems found during a test must now be rectified as quickly as possible. Cluu also helps with this. Issues can be transferred directly from the test management to the Cluu issue tracking app.
There they are prioritized, categorized and assigned to a responsible person. The measures initiated for an issue allow transparent tracking of the issues until they are resolved.
